Health Beyond Borders: A Community Outreach Rooted in Compassion and Connection

On February 22, 2025, International Women of HOPE, in collaboration with United Community Enrichment and Unthreading Trauma, led a powerful initiative called Health Beyond Borders—a transformative outreach created to meet the growing psychological and practical needs of our community during this critical season.

Health Beyond Borders was more than an event—it was a movement of healing, hope, and unity.

Held in the heart of our community, it addressed the often-overlooked toll of psychological trauma, especially among immigrants and displaced individuals. With a focus on mental health, the event brought together counselors, pastors, and advocates, TPS specialists, lawyers to create a safe space for open conversations and healing connections.

But healing doesn’t stop at mental health. We recognized the layers of challenges our people face. That’s why Health Beyond Borders also became a hub of resources—a place where immigration lawyers, faith leaders, healthcare providers, and grassroots organizations joined hands to serve those in need. Families came with questions. Individuals came seeking support. And together, we offered guidance, compassion, and action.

We’re proud that this day empowered so many—especially our brothers and sisters living in legal limbo, our undocumented immigrants community members, and those just trying to find their footing again.

Today, as we share these photos, we’re reminded of our mission and the urgent needs still facing our people—both here and in Haiti.

The images reflect our commitment, but also echo a deeper cry from the women and children enduring the chaos in regions like Port-au-Prince and Hinche. We are not only continuing our efforts—we are expanding them.
